Hurricane Harvey Flood Damage
Hurricane Harvey reeked havoc throughout Houston and the surrounding cities. SERVPRO of East Lansing/Haslett was mainly helping residents in the city of Katy, TX, which is about 30 miles west of Houston. The home pictured here had indoor flood levels of about 18" and due to the contamination of the waters, cuts on the drywall would have to be at least a foot above the sediment line, according to FEMA's guidelines. Although the water inside homes began to recede somewhat quickly, homes remained inaccessible for days later due to flooding on the streets.
SERVPRO of East Lansing/Haslett was one of the hundreds of franchises around the country that made their way down to Texas as soon as the surrounding cities were accessible. Our crew stayed throughout the month of September helping many residents get their homes dried out and ready for reconstruction.
